Thales Communications & Security S.A. (TCS), world leader in critical information system and secure communications, addresses every activity related to telecommunications, from systems of systems down to components: radio communications, IP networks, satellite communication and information security. TCS is the first world company on the market of the systems and professional and military equipments of communications. Its very wide range of activities covers the equipments of mobile radio communications, the big ground networks, the aeronautical, spatial and naval communications. Moreover, TCS has a strong commitment in the private mobile radio (PMR) segment, and proposes already broadband wireless solution for the PMR professionals, with the TeMAX product, based on WiMAX technology.

The laboratory of TCS involved in WILD is the WaveForm Design lab (WFD), in charge of advanced studies for new wireless radio access within the Signal processing and multimedia department. Main achievements of WFD lab are advanced PHY/MAC/network cross-layer designs for IP oriented wireless ad-hoc networks for broadband mobile radio access in the trend of Software Defined Radio (SDR) / Cognitive radio (CR) paradigms. WFD lab is also very much involved on research of digital communications both for spectrally constrained systems and for modern wireless broadband system like WIMAX and LTE.
